My name is Nicky Tarrant, and I have lived in beautiful Taupo for 26 years.
My husband Russ and I moved here in 1995 to start our Earthworks business, “Tarrant Contracting Ltd”. Not knowing anyone at the time but after having children, we soon settled into the community. We have three amazing children who are all grown up and have flown the coop.
I chose to embark on this fun and exciting journey simply because I love to dance! I also enjoy challenging myself, so this ticks both boxes. In my spare time I love to catch up with friends for coffee, shopping, eating or enjoying a wine together.
I am super excited about being involved in this competition and meeting new people. I feel very privileged to be able to support Life Education Trust in such a worthy cause.
Being a father of 4, I have a pretty full life in hand, but enjoy spending time with amazing wife Tristy and the kids in their pursuits and I’m particularly connected to motor-cross.
I am also the Business Owner of Tall Poppy Real Estate in our region and we are honoured to be a part of this worthy cause.
Being initiated to take part in Dancing for Life Education in Partnership with Tall Poppy Real Estate is a “two left feet" obstacle for me! My heart is pumping, and I am amped to face the challenge and to be a role model to others that stepping out of your comfort zone can be done. Bring it on!

Teacher: Holly Rabone
Holly started dancing when she was 5 years old doing jazz, ballet and contemporary. At university she started competing in modern jive competitions around the country. She then moved on to West Coast swing where she has competed in New Zealand and abroad. Holly moved to Taupo 2 years ago after working in Tauranga for a couple of years. She is a companion animal veterinarian with VetPlus. She has really enjoyed learning base step with Julian the past year and has been grateful for the opportunity to choreograph for and teach novice dancers.
