Mandy Mott

HI Wow! (or Kia Ora)

How fantastic to be a part of the Life Education Trust!

My name is Mandy and I have lived in Taupō from the age of 17, and the growth and commitment to the Taupō Community and spirit is humbling to see.

I owned a successful salon, won a number of awards and then left to travel and see family for my OE. I arrived back in NZ and resided in Auckland, working in the Hair and Education and Youth sector.

I have an adorable husband and two gorgeous lads with beautiful partners.

To be back in Taupō is awesome, living the lake life, and seeing my beautiful friends and family.

We are very blessed. As I say to my sons - “To create your world you first must be a part of a community”. So I am putting my best foot forward and am putting my dancing shoes on!!!

Thank you so much to you all in making this possible, now I have an amazing opportunity to give back and follow my passion.

Thank you to Robyn King for the fabulous organising, and to Andrew my dancing partner, and to the Dance Teachers.

I’d also like to give a big thank you to The Life Education Trust and most importantly my Extraordinary and beautiful Sponsor Patreece Corban, and all the amazing superstars from Creme Brulee Hair and Beauty.

Thank you so very much!!

Nga mihi nui.

Andrew Blewett

My name is Andrew and I have 4 wonderful children aged 3, 7, 10 and 12 and a beautiful fiancé. I have always had a passion for watersports and boats so I am proud to work at Trev Terry Marine. Their focus is on excellence so I hope to make them proud!

When I first was approached about this opportunity I was apprehensive and I admit quite nervous. I was reminded that I have always taught my children that they can do anything they put their mind to and sometimes it's good to step out of your comfort zone.

I’ve taken on this challenge to show my children that with practice, commitment and dedication, anything is possible. Face your fears and overcome them.

I look forward to learning a new skill and meeting new people along this journey. With the support of my family, friends and workmates I know I can do this.

Life Education Trust is a fantastic cause and I’m thankful for this opportunity.

  • Teacher: Holly Rabone

Holly started dancing when she was 5 years old doing jazz, ballet and contemporary. At university she started competing in modern jive competitions around the country. She then moved on to West Coast swing where she has competed in New Zealand and abroad. Holly moved to Taupo 2 years ago after working in Tauranga for a couple of years. She is a companion animal veterinarian with VetPlus. She has really enjoyed learning base step with Julian the past year and has been grateful for the opportunity to choreograph for and teach novice dancers.

  • Teacher: Andrew Boldero

Andrew Boldero is the Director of Street Swing Hamilton and has been dancing West Coast Swing for over 8 years. Andrew has competed at West Coast Swing event throughout NZ and Australia and trained with Champion and All Star level dancers from NZ, Australia, USA, Singapore and Canada. With Holly Rabone, Andrew instruct couples in West Coast Swing; a popular form of swing dancing that has spread across the world. Although it’s history and roots come from lindy hop, part of the appeal is that it can be danced to a variety of musical styles and genres. In addition, the dance itself creates room for improvisation and interaction between the partners.
