Christine Singer
I’m Christine Singer. I have always loved dancing and would love to have done dancing as a child. I am an avid watcher of the Dancing with the Stars TV programmes. I love all the sparkles and the amazing costumes. My daughter, Georgette is a dancer and taught in her later years, in Taupō, Auckland and Wellington. I also wanted to get Budget House’s name out in the business sector, so they are aware of the great work we do with the community and this is my reason for Dancing for Life Education Trust.
Ken Harris
My name is Ken Harris and I was born and bred in Chicago, Illinois, USA. I've been living in New Zealand for 10 years and in Taupō for 5.5. I first came to New Zealand in 2009 and I worked for Project Tongariro (same organisation as Greening Taupō) during a working holiday.
My then supervisor is my wife now. Her name is Fiona and she's a Kiwi from Masterton. We have 3 daughters, who find inventive ways of making me lose more hair every day. They are 10, 8 and 4.5, with the two oldest attending Taupō Primary School.
My wife and I used to own The Source Bulk Foods here in Taupō (that's a long story). Now, my wife is a dental assistant with the school dental nurses and I work for Towncentre Taupō helping plan several community events that make our town a vibrant place to live. People may also know me as founder of the Taupō Disc Golf Club and the guy that teaches their kids disc golf in schools.
For those that have seen me with a sliver of space on a dance floor and a good tune coming out of the speakers, will tell you I take advantage of every inch I'm given. I'm also no stranger to making a complete fool of myself, so there seemed to be no good reason to turn down the opportunity to do all of that for a good cause.
I'm hoping to enjoy the whole process of learning this new skill, embracing the ups and downs of what I’m about to undertake, and being regularly amazed at what the people of our little town can accomplish when they set their mind to it.”

Teacher - Stacey Jacobs
Hey, my name is Stacey "Stussy" Jacobs from Misfitz Dance Studio.
I have been teaching dance for over 15 years teaching Hip Hop, Zumba Fitness, Adult, Aqua and Fitness classes to all ages and abilities in New Zealand and Overseas.
At Misfitz we thrive on giving our students the chance to express themselves in a more creative outlet, building confidence and self-esteem, and giving the opportunity to build their dance careers in local and national events. Some of which are currently about to head off to L.A in September to perform at Disneyland, on Hollywood BLVD and work with some of the top choreographers in the world.
I am so excited and honoured to be a part of the Dancing for Life Education event and ready to put the dancers through their paces!
So get ready to strut your stuff, pop lock and drop it and bring it to the floor!
